The LBS College of Engineering Kasaragod Alumni – UAE Chapter (CEKA UAE) celebrated the vibrant festival of Onam with an event titled Onanilavu 24 on October 6th, 2024, at Safari Mall, Sharjah. The festivities, which lasted from 9 AM to 7 PM, showcased a blend of cultural traditions and entertainment. The highlight of the event was a captivating musical performance by Farhan Navas, the winner of Asianet Middle East Star Singer, whose soulful melodies enthralled the audience.
The celebration featured the traditional Onasadya, a grand feast that embodies the spirit of Onam, offering a delectable variety of Kerala’s finest dishes. Another major attraction was the performance by the Seek Melam team from the UAE, who delivered a high-energy Singarimelam, a traditional Kerala percussion ensemble that added to the festive atmosphere.
CEKA UAE members turned up in large numbers, making the event a memorable reunion for the alumni. The event was presided over by the chapter’s President, Nishath Gopal, who, along with other office bearers, ensured the smooth execution of the event. Onanilavu 24 successfully brought together the CEKA UAE community, fostering camaraderie and celebrating Kerala’s rich culture in the heart of the UAE.
