Our Legacy

LBS College of Engineering was established in 1993 under the auspices of the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, and has a proud history of academic excellence and innovation. The college initially offered B.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with a total of 240 seats. The college began its journey in a temporary facility in 1995.

Our Campus

The college is situated in Muliyar Panchayath of Kasaragod district, the northernmost district of Kerala. Its sprawling 52-acre campus was generously provided by the Plantation Corporation of Kerala at Povval. The campus is 12 kilometers from Kasaragod town, with Mangaluru Airport and Kasaragod Railway Station being the nearest airport and railway station respectively. Nearby, the picturesque Bekal Fort, Madhur Temple, and Ananthapuri Temple are key tourist attractions in Kasaragod district.

Academic Growth and Expansion

In 2000, the college expanded its offerings by introducing a B.Tech program in Information Technology (IT) with an intake of 60 students and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program with 35 seats. In 2008, a B.Tech program in Civil Engineering (CE) was added to its portfolio. Further expansion occurred with an additional 60 seats each for the Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering programs. Between 2013 and 2015, the college introduced four postgraduate programs and established research centers in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, marking significant milestones in its journey towards academic excellence.

As the only government aided engineering college in the Kasaragod district, LBS College of Engineering plays a pivotal role in enabling students from remote areas to pursue UG and PG programs in engineering and technology. Over the years, the college has maintained a consistent academic and placement record, making it a preferred choice for students in the region.

Kasaragod is a picturesque town located in the northernmost part of Kerala, India.
