The vibrant spirit of Onam filled the air as the CEKAQ hosted its annual Onam celebration on October 25, 2024. The day began with CEKAQ family members coming together to create a beautiful and intricate pookalam. The festivities officially commenced with an exciting chess tournament for children under 16, with over 10 young members of the CEKAQ family showcasing their strategic skills. The tournament fostered a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie amongst the young participants.
The event was officially inaugurated by Gafoor Sir, who was felicitated by CEKAQ President Prasun Tharakan, Secretary Nigesh, Treasurer Anees, and senior members of the CEKAQ family. Following the official ceremony, attendees were treated to a delectable Ona Sadya. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by a series of fun-filled activities for the whole family, including games, dance performances, song renditions, and a lively round of Tambola.
Prizes for the winners of the games, Tambola, and Malayali Mannan and Malayali Mangai (adult and kids) were distributed, adding to the excitement and engagement. The highlight of the evening was the prize distribution ceremony for the chess tournament. Ayush Pradeep emerged as the champion, followed by Fizan Mohammed in second place, Shreejaii Thogiti in third, and George Prasun securing the fourth position.
